The purpose of Form I94/I94W is to keep track of the arrival and departure of all visitors to the United States. Visitors to the United States must apply for a visa to enter the country. This is except if they are citizens of one of 35 visa-exempt countries or have a machine-readable passport. Citizens from visa-waiver countries are allowed to enter the United States for up 90 days without a visa. No matter if the visitor is coming to the United States under Visa Waiver Program or if he/she holds a visa, all visitors must fill out either Form I-944 (white) OR Form I-944W (green).

Visa Extension
For foreign nationals who are visiting the United States with a B-1 Business Visa, or a B-2 Tourist Visa, a US immigration officer will issue an I-94 form upon their entry. An I-94 form is a small, white card that displays the bearer’s arrival date and the location of his entry to the United States. It also displays the departure date for the bearer.
