Important Information for Green Card Holders and Visa Holders: Failure to give the USCIS a written notice of address changes (Form AR-11), within 10 days of being in the United States more than 30 days is a misdemeanor. Individuals convicted can face a fine up to $200, imprisonment for up to 30 days or both. Ref. INA SS 266,(b). The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement runs a Special Registration program that requires certain nationalities to undergo additional security procedures to confirm their address change while they are in the United States. The Change of Address Information Guide lists the specific procedures and nationalities.
