Form G-845

Form G-845 is used by the USCIS to verify documentation submitted by local, state or federal agencies which is used to determine immigration status. Section A of Form G-845 is to be completed by the submitting agency. Section B of Form G-845 is to be completed by the USCIS and includes a determination by USCIS as to the validity of the documents submitted. The documents may relate to the following categories: validity of documents showing alien's Lawful Permanent Residency in the United States; validity of documents showing alien's Conditional Residency of the United States; an alien's Authorization for Employment in the United States; the validity of alien's application pending before the USCIS; the granting of an alien's asylum or refugee status in the United States; the validity of an alien's parole status into the United States pursuant to Section 212 of the I&N Act; the validity of a document as it relates to an alien who is a Cuban or Haitian entrant; the validity of a document as it relates to an alien who is a Conditional Entrant; and the validity of a document as it relates to an alien who is a non-immigrant.

Form G-845, when completed by USCIS, may indicate the validity of a document showing the alien does not have authorization for employment in the United States. Further, the USCIS may direct on Section B of Form G-845 that the alien continue to be processed as a legal alien while other indices are searched for further information. Finally, the USCIS may indicate on Form G-845 that the submitted document is not valid because it appears to be expired, altered or counterfeit.
